Crap I meant CFL.

Basically here is what I need to know if you can help me out;

1) which color type do you prefer for veg and flowering

2) can I wire a mogul socket CFL to a plug in cord or do I need a ballast to do that

You know they have a 100-200 watt fixture available from Hydrofarm and some other suppliers. I was wondering if it was possible to recreate that fixture with local hardware store goodies. I found a 100 watt compact fluorescent bulb at the store. Do I need a ballast or can I just straight up wire it to a cord that will carry the voltage?
