    First grow, outdoors, some questions

I will get some pics up hopefully by tomorrow. I can't find the cable to my camera so I'll have to get another one. On to my questions.

I live in an apartment with a patio with a small amount of dirt in it. It gets about 8-10 hours of direct sunlight a day. I planted some seeds in my herb garden, and I ended up with a couple of plants. Luckily I have no upstairs neighbors. I think I have girls, but will get some close-up pics and let someone more experienced take a look.

First question: I have a six-foot fence around the patio. One of the plants is 4.5 feet high and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. The other one is about 8 inches shorter and is also growing like gangbusters. Are they too old to maybe try to train them sideways to a lattice so they won't grow taller than the fence? That would be a huge problem here. I wasn't even expecting them to grow, let alone grow so fast.

Second question: Is the amount of sunlight enough to put them into flower? I don't really want to draw attention by using grow lights outdoors, but I'm not sure if they absolutely must have the 12 hours of light.

That's all for now, I'll have a couple more when I can get pics. Any answers would be much appreciated!

Uhm, You're probably going to have to bend them and try doing LST to prevent them from growing taller than the fence.

I dont have much experience with either.

2nd question - Since they've been outdoors all their life they will flower on their own.
In about 1-2 months, I GUESS.

Do you have any clue what type of cannabis plants they are? Sounds like a sativa dominant strain. When did you sow the seeds?

You should probably top them. Look it up, and explore the board a bit. There are plenty of answers on this board - treat it like an encyclopedia; but, take it with a grain of salt, unless you have someone who has been around passing on some insight from experience. Experience counts a lot - learning the hard way really impresses a memory upon ye ole noggin'.

Also, you just said they were nearly 6' tall, so they must be getting plenty of sunlight. Flowering normally starts outdoors when the days become 12/12 light/dark. It may take quite a while to determine sex, but there are some threads on this board that will help you find a few early indicators - use the Search function.

    Be good out there.

Your neighbors will smell them when they flower. Start scouting locations on back roads, in the woods etc away from your house unless you want to bring them indoors to flower.

The lighting and everything else will be fine as southernguerilla said, same when transplanting. And yes topping and LST is good for stealth... maybe you should transplant them to a remote location now before they get to big to put in the car.

lol, I can just picture someone driving down the road with their "green" car that looks like a ganja bomb went off inside.

Some people wouldn't know the smell of pot if you told and showed them what it was...

But growing on your patio in an apartment complex is too risky for me, unless it was legal.
