Pesticide problems
On one hand, you have a chewing insect.
On the other hand, I'd rather have a chewing insect than a horde of sucking insects, and sucking insects seem to appear in hordes, lol. That damage LOOKS nasty but if it is confined to relatively few leaves, it is mostly cosmetic.
You can mist your plants lightly with neem oil to protect them from more bugs and moisture loss from the damage.
