Lighting Question for 2.6'x2.6'x5.3' Growbox
I am planning on growing 4 plants in this space. I plan on either using 2 100W CFL's for vegging, or 1 175-250W MH for vegging. I plan to use a 400W HPS for flowering. For my HID lighting I plan on buying an air cooled reflector, and will have a 6" 250cfm fan for exhaust, and a 170cfm inline fan for intake.
1. Would 2 100W CFL's or 1 175-250W MH work well for this space.
2. Would a 400W HPS system work well in this space for flowering.
3. With an air cooled reflector, is it a necessity to run ducting off the reflector to my exhaust fan? Or can i just have my carbon filter and exhaust fan at the top of my growbox, and just have a fan blowing air through the air cooled reflector to defer the heat? In that way, I would be able to get away with 1 exhaust for the whole room.
4. If i used this equipment, would overheating be a cause for concern, or would my ventilation be sufficient to exhaust the hot air. If need be, i could hook up ducting to my central air and my inline intake fan to blow cool air in as well.
Thank you all for any input you can give me.JFJO216 Reviewed by JFJO216 on . Lighting Question for 2.6'x2.6'x5.3' Growbox I am planning on growing 4 plants in this space. Lighting Question for 2.6'x2.6'x5.3' Growbox
Using two different fans will bottleneck your intake/exhaust meaning the fan with a higher cfm won't be exhausting air at maximum capacity. The larger fan can't exhaust air that hasn't entered the compartment yet and vice versa, a larger intake fan couldn't force more air into the compartment than the exhaust can remove.
Dunno if I read that wrong or not considering I'm baked at the moment but figured I'd point it out in case. :rastasmoke:

Lighting Question for 2.6'x2.6'x5.3' Growbox
Hey JFJ,
1. Either would work fine.
2. Yep 400 hps is great for that space.
3. You're complicating matters mate, you only need one fan, you have the lot attatched to it. I have mine set up like this, tho there are other ways. (i'll use ------ to represent ducting)
Carbon filter-------Cooled reflector--------Fan
see the pic below, you can't see the fan coz thats outside the tent.
4. Sorry i can't say, a lot of it depends on the temp of the air you're sucking into the space.
Good luck
