Is it alright to smoke before going to work?

So I have smoked before going to work and there are some pros and cons...

Pros are I don't feel depressed at work (one of the reasons I take medication) and I am more focused on my duties and getting them done.

Cons are my manager knows I smoke and although she says she's cool with it, she keeps on giving me weird looks and so do other people.

So I would like to know your guy's opinion on what I should do...

Customers may not appreciate you having a glazed-over stoner looks in your eyes, or a smell of weed on your cloths. I've learned over the years that as as a stoner, you smell 10x as much to non-stoners as you do to your own kind.
eg. When I bought some pot in one town, I put it in my inside pocket of my leather coat. I smelled the coat and said to my buddies "wow, leather really covers up the smell nicely." They gave it a whiff and said they couldn't smell it at all either. So I took the bus back to my hometown, and when I got off my mom met me and said "holy shit [my name], you really reek of dope!" And no, I hadn't smoked before or during the ride.

That might be because it permeated, smell eventually gets through almost everything. Thatâ??s why you canâ??t just put weed into a plastic container in your luggage and take a 12 hour flight. Ok maybe it takes longer than that but it will eventually permeate through the plastic pores and the dogs will smell it.

Lol, on a more serious note, the "weird looks" you're receiving may be blown out of proportion by paranoia.

When I read the the title of this my instinct was "NO!!!" but if your manager is cool with it... yes. If you feel like customers are noticing take steps to make it less noticeable. In case you don't know how I'll just list a quick few

-use eye drops (I use visine natural tears, they clear my eyes right up)
-use some sort of deoderant body spray (I use addidas, lots of people like axe)
-if you can, smoke wearing a different shirt than the one you wear at work
-wash your hands and face after smoking
-brush your teeth after blazing, or use mints/gum to cover the smell on your breath.

I'd like to conclude by again saying I want your job.
