how close am i to my first HG bud?

i was reading in the basic growing manual on these forums and i read that when your pistals start to turn brown or at least slow down the production of white pistals your process begins.

This is my first plant so im not familiar with the sights of it. It is only about 2 to 2.5 feet high, but has some nice floura and a nice strong stock. in the begining it started out as a random planted seed and grew slowly till i put it outside. it's been about 3 3.5 months total... i know thats a while and its tiny, but its my first plant and i didnt use special fertilizer or nothing just whatever soil was in the pot and then w/e was in the ground. so then today i noticed the new pistals were grenner than any others and that the older ones were not really white anymore, but more blending in with the stock. does this mean the final phase is begining? please help if need be ill post some pics.

Pics would help; if you are outdoors in MA you still have a few months to go before harvest. Anything suited to our local climate will come down in about mid October, right before the frosts and rain. If it was already flowering due to short days earlier in the spring, now it should be reverting to veg and putting on size, and will start flowering in earnest in late August.

yea i started in early spring just inside, because here in mass it was way too cold to put out, so i was just seeing if i could get it to bud and it went into the flowering stage very small and then it started getting warmer and then i brought it outside and it almost died, but it basicaly reset itself and now is in the veg state. and that was about 3 months maybe a little more. its been like my pet.

I'm in MA and used to grow outdoors. Good idea to put them out late, mine always did much better that way. Your plant looks nice and healthy. As per Ms. Attic, late Sept. is realistic for a finish.

just another quick question, the actual pistals to determin sex aren't the ones that are at the base of the branches are they? are they the ones that actually start the bud and start with the veg process?
