hey guys im and outdoor grower only this is my second time grow ing by myself and i just wanted to know if there is anyway you can tell wether the plants will be m/f before the sexing shows and when does the sexing show in my area im near ct the places i have are ver good for sun 90% of the time theres direct sun unless the weather is crappy wich it has been for a few weeks too much rain wich in return brings them slimy sluggies out to binge on my plants i lost around 15 plants due to them freaker so i bought some slug killer pesticide wich im only using on one patch because i dunno if its goin to harm myself in the end im thinkin i use the stuff till the flowers show then stop. the products are pellets no spray or anything im using miracle grow plant food,horse poop and cow poop for fert so i dont think i need anything more but wanted to know what to use to get big yummy buds if they are ladies and where to buy in a store like walmart or home cheapo
the seeds i used wer from some very good high mids and also some blueberry and sour diesel seeds along with a mixture of good high quality sht i got from my cuzin in canada the mids are so called az's w/e that means hopefully they will mature by end of season well guys i know i typed alot and went on but if u can give me any advice on what i asked it be much appreciated and also i started everything in late april if that will help i planted all the seeds on opening day of fishing season april 20th or 2o1st

There is no sure way to tell, sex shows when days are getting shorter and the plants are sexually mature. That's gonna happen soon, but in a few weeks i think you will know for sure.
Stop using that slug killer. It's bad for you and the nature.
You can get rid of some slugs, if you clear away the grass/weeds around your plants....slugs don't really like open space...1-2 foot in diameter will be just fine...
You should get some good nutes for the plants. Find a hydro store or a grow shop, and buy some organic nute for cannabis....Like Fox Farm or BioBizz, BioCanna....It's not cheap, but the plants gonna thank you for it...

definitely follow Zeb's advice. Especially regarding the slugs! and the nutrients too. If you feed them cheap food the resulting bud will be lackluster. Big up to the constitution state...lived there many moons ago

1. Flowers (or pre-flowers in the early stage of flowering) are the only way to tell the sex of a plant.

2. Good vegetative nutes have a high "N" value, good flowering nutes have a high "P" value (most fertilizers list their N-P-K numbers on the label).

3. I personally don't have a problem with you using pesticides... as long as you use it in the smallest amount possible. You definitely should stop when flowering starts... preferably a few weeks before, at least.

The thing is, if you clear 2 feet around every plant it might make your plants extremely easy to spot from the air... and it sounds like you have a relatively large grow since you say you have lost 15 plants. Its sort of like having to pick between the lesser of two evils... using poison to kill slugs (and which might kill a few other animals), or increasing your chance of going to jail for an untold number of years. You are the only one who can really make that choice for yourself.

Finally, use periods... sentences, commas, etc. my friend. Please. It makes it easier for people to read and understand what you are saying.

Slugs can be trapped with beer bait. they LOVE beer. Put it in a small dish near base of plant and slugs will drink-n-drown. Beer can be stale doesn't matter. Can use a beer can or use a plastic bottle cap and dig it down even with soil then fill with beer. AND it's ORGANIC lol.

I dont know about the effects on the soil, but slugs like melt
when you put salt on them!

so the slug killer stuff will harm me when i smoke the finished product thats not good for me but i have only used it twice and the plants are much bigger now n the slugs havent been on them for almost 2 weeks now and im using horse and cow manure and sometimes adding a little bit of plant food but much less than recomended because the poop has alot of the good stuff in it but please let me know about the slug killer thanks

your initial instinct to stop using a pesticide when flowers form is a good one.
You should be fine; just use the beer traps from here on in. Cut the top off a beer can and sink it into the soil right near the base of your plant.
