    Ready For Flower?

Ok so I have a question? My 2 plants are goin on their 6th week. And I FIM'd the tops about a week and half ago. They have already started to show sex, and they have already started alternating nodes, but im not sure they are ready for the 250w HPS? Do you think I should wait another week for the plant to get used to their new FIM'd tops? Or do you think that because they have shown sex and started alternating, that I should goahead and start flowering?

    Any advice/input is greatly apprecieated!
:stoned:Oh yea I forgot to mention... They are about 12" now, and going to be in a space of about 56" in height, and 21x18" W x D.

    THNX, in advance,:greenthumb:

    Ready For Flower?

As you probably know, most people tend to go by 1 or 2 main things when determining "flower readiness"

1: Alternating nodes...a sign of sexual maturity (you dirty little plants!)

2: Height...Many strains will double or triple in size once put into flower so once they're a certain height...in they go.

as far as the fimming goes...you may want to wait to see that they have recovered from the FIM and the new growth is substantial. Usually 2 or 3 weeks for me but i veg longer than most, depends when you FIM em i guess. you say a week and a half? if the FIM'd top is still real small and showing fresh little half leaves (looks like they've been chewed or cut) i'd let them go another week or so until they are a little bigger and spread out a little more. they'll probably do fine either way.

so yeah, put em in and watch the magic.

    keep us posted

    Ready For Flower?

Thnx for the advice guys. I think I will wait another day or 2 just to make sure they are ready. Like i said my grow space is pretty limited. So the sooner the better, but Ill give em a few more days then go 12/12 under 250w HPS. Im sure they will love it.

Ill keep you posted and pics will be ariving within the next few days.

    THANX,

elskeetro is correct. That fresh growth is flowered early will have a tough time. You do have space limitations so I hope 12" isn't going to be too tall for your space. If from seed I'd expect 36" +. If from clone youshould be fine. Also, remember you can bend or tie your flowering branches creating horizontal growth to take less height.
