Hey Stealth!
Do you have any updates??
I've been waiting for something new to pop up on this thread, I really want to look into this LED thing more so this is one of my best sources for Mucho Info
Anyways, sorry for seeming a tad impatient (I'm not trying to be) I just really like your work so I get all excited when something new happens
Keep it up

One question SnSstealth.
Im looking into starting an LED OP
But I am nowhere near affording the LED system u showcased in your threads.
So I surfed the web looking for some LED lighting systems, and I found one set that fits my economic status..
Check them out and let me know what u think, I was also planning on buying a couple red panels and some blue, while I'm still searching for a green panel.
Red Panel
Blue Panel

hello dr,
Well...where do we start...the "china panel" LEDs that you are looking to acquire are not very capable(polite as i can be) at growing high light plants. the few grows ive seen using them were minimal results at best and a 1 1/2" tall seedling looking thing after 3+weeks at worst. you can use them as additional light if you have a small grow space. use the blue in veg and the red in flower...which brings me to your other issue...you prob. wont find a green panel as green wavelengths are barely used by plants according to studies of plant photosynthesis. there are some other nm up for debate still but the green range is widely thought of as unnecessary.
home grown lights dot com has some in the 40 to 60 dollar range also that have shone promise.
goodluck:thumbsup:

Good work on these threads! I am looking into a 300W LED grow light composed of 288 LED lights. Here is the configuration I want to use:
Red 620 to 630 nm = 18lights
Red 630 to 640 nm = 34lights
Red 640 to 650 nm = 68lights
Red 640 to 660 nm = 136lights
Blue 460 nm = 32 lights
the total LED power is of 300W, so there is a little more than 1W per LED.
Is it a better idea to distribute them equally along each of these wavelenghts?
If I distribute them equally, I get this spectral distribution:
spectrum Pictures, spectrum Images, spectrum Photos, spectrum Videos - Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting
sorry for the long link, but that was the fastest way for me to post that image
Please let me know what you think
