question from a weed novice.
say if i made a cup of coffee, if i stuck some ground up marijuana in an empty teabag and put it in, would it activate the THC and therefore get me stoned if i drank it?

Not likely Cuz, but you can always make a billy brew. We do this out in the bush sometimes.
2 tblsp coffee grounds
1 small tin evaporated milk (not low fat) or sweetened condensed milk if you want it sweeter.
1 litre water
2 grams mediocre bud ground.
Bring to boil, simmer uncovered for about 30 mins, stirring occasionally. Strain, sip, snuggle into your swag and watch the stars.

just boil small amount of ground herb in high fat milk, butter milk is best. then add that milk to your coffee or tea or whatever. personaly I strain all the bud out of the milk too.
otherwise it doesnt come out as good

^^^^ Indeed... cause the THC is not soluble in water, so you need something with fat (like milk) to dissolve it and get high from it.

Then run a search on canna-butter or canna-oil. Was it stinkyattic who did a clean canna-butter post not long ago? (Sorry - just medicated).
However, even tea can have pain relieving effects- and it's not due to THC! Cannabis has MANY compounds in it and we don't know the half of it's healing properties!
