This hasn't been said enough THANK YOU I was considering buying an EZ Cloner once my state license comes through but this guide sounds awesome. Thank you for taking the time to help someone like me save $200.

EDIT: Ok I read thru post and answered my own question my badd.. But still thanks somuch I really needed something like this im tired of cloning with peat pellets in a humidity dome with shitty success rate and more often then not wilting problems.

    Hey Y'all!
    What a kick-ass thread.
I 've had a very similar rig set up ...tried it once with no success.
After going thru this thread, I think I'll try it again.
Just one questtion I'd like to ask...I gotta quart jug of Olivia's cloning solution that's just sittin' around taking up space...Do y'all think it would it help or hinder putting some into the cloner? If so, at what mix? Prolly a dumb question but I got the stuff and feel a need to use it before it goes to shit..Kind of a waste not want not child of the poor thing I was raised with.

Use the cloning solution as directed on bottle. I use gel on the clones before putting in bubble cloner seems to work.

Aye aye on the great post.

I've read alot about cloning and also noticed about a week ago that many of the cloners people are selling on ebay are basically this cloner (or at least very similar and home made). Glad I finally gathered some real info on it.

    As for me inputting anything...

Always use aquarium silicone when dealing with living things, especially if you plan to consume them/it. Regular silicone caulking can outgas for MANY months. Where as aquarium silicone only outgases a few days. Even then the gases are far less harmful. Unless you plan to cure the cloner for say,.. a year!

I also have a suggestion for holding down the airstones. I keep a reef aquarium and buy an epoxy at my local aquarium shops which is completely reef safe, drys under water and has no harmful effects on my corals, clams, shrimp, sea cuccumber or any other thing living in there. It dries VERY quickly and can be used in the running aquarium to glue down live corals, glue rocks together or any other thing (like smuthering an aptasia). It comes in a stick. You cut off the size chunk you will use, mush the inner and outer layers together, then stick it on whatever your sticking it on. I've even used it to make handles on my glass top over eight years ago and it's still there. Being this stuff hardens into basically a rock, you could either epoxy it to the bottom of the bin or just make stone beads to slip over the lines for added weight.

Again great thread,... WHY ISN'T THIS A STICKY??
