cheap and easy DIY cloner and what to do with the results
Hey, not sure if this thread is still active but I've absorbed a lot from this thread. I was curious if folks had any luck without the Superthrive and/or Thrive Alive additives? Also, anyone using any Hydro nutrients as part of this? In short I'm curious if I can do without additives and, if so, should I bother with, say, 1/4 strength nutes.
Thanks!!

I use Ph'd water only with fresh cut stems. In standing water will take about 2 weeks; With an airstone about 1 week. Superthrive will get em goin sooner.

Hey all...
I know what I've made is pretty close to the same thing here but its still a bit diff, should I expect to see basically the same results if attended to properly?
I clipped the fan leaves back and let them heal before taking the clones and I dipped them in a cheap root hormone I got from a HGC. The bubble stone is 5" long and its pretty bubbly. LOL The clone stems hang down about 3/4" bellow the foam block they're in and also only about 3/4" from the water surface too. The water was adjusted to 6.2 and the only thing added was a little glob or rooting hormone that I mixed in well.
I put the clones on the bottom shelf to keep them out of direct light. Where they're at wont be too much or too little light will it?
:rastasmoke: And, WTF, if they die (i hope not) this was just an experiment anyhow, gotta learn sometimes...

Really? I could drag em out from under the shelf a little more to up the light but I figured they were getting plenty until the roots show.
