Is my top gonna be a flop?

I have already discussed this with a few people, but would like to hear more views pls.

26 days veg. In 7.5 litre pots, 2/3 Miracle Grow ( also would enjoy hearing views on this ) 1/3 clay balls. Some grew lanky during germination/sprout stage under fluros. Some others started a little later went under 400w HPS straight away.

The first batch are all 10-12" tall, the latter 6-8".

My area is only 4' tall so with pots and space for light Im looking at approx. 3' or a little more. Ventilation is good. Temp is steady 70-75 on and 55-60 off.

So I topped them a few days ago. The taller ones only, thought I'd leave the shorter ones.

And then put them into 12/12 today. ( Your views on this pls, especially with regard to the fact i just topped them. Took them down to the nearest, fully sprouted fith node )

Thinking of laying a net and SOG but have never done this before.

I accept I may not get maximum yield, but don'r smoke massive amounts and if I can cut turn-around time to usage-time then thats a step in the right direction.

I have just fertilized once using 10-8-14. The miracle grow soil has nutrients in it, so dont want to over feed. I think there looking good, growing visibly daily.

    Ph is between 6-7.

Any advice on any of that?

    thank you

    peace

    First Mistake...
    Miracle Gro.

"Some plants require or can withstand high levels of fertilizer while others canâ??t. In general, predominately sativa varieties require less fertilizer than indica-dominant types. Many growers add progressively more fertilizer as plants mature. General signs of over-fertilization or toxic salt buildup include burned leaf tips, discolored leaves, and slow growth. Actual toxic signs appear about two weeks after they initially occur.
If you set plants up on a weekly fertilization schedule, make sure to flush containers every 30 days with 2-3 times the volume of weak nutrient solution (5-10 percent mix) as growing medium. This flush will wash out excess fertilizer salts that have built up. Also, make sure 10-20 percent of each irrigation drains out the bottom of the growing container to keep salt buildup to a minimum.

Miracle Gro is an inexpensive fertilizer that may not have everything your plants need. I suggest you change to a high-quality hydroponic fertilizer that has all the required nutrients. Such fertilizer costs a few cents more per application, and will avert many different fertilizer problems before they happen.

Change fertilizer from a high-nitrogen mix used during vegetative growth to a high-phosphorus/potassium super bloom mix when you induce flowering. Vegetative growth is maintained with an 18/6-hour day/night light schedule. Flowering is induced with a 12/12-hour day/night light schedule.

Water from a dehumidifier should be quite clean and good for plants. Dehumidifiers, like air conditioners, draw moisture from the air and condense it into liquid or water. When this moisture is condensed into liquid form, most dissolved solids do not precipitate. I recently checked the level of dissolved solids in water condensed from such a device. It ran about 20 ppm."

are you saying that the miracle grow with nutes is a bad idea because i just had my plants in vermiculite and they were doin fine till one day yellowing occured so we transplanted them into the miracle grow with nutes and shit they took off in one day multiplyin leaves at a very fast rate but this is in the seedling stage 15 days after germination only 3 " tall so i dont know at what point (stage) did u transfer to miracle grow with nutes ?? because im curious it doesnt make sense to me how it would be a mistake to use considering the effect it had on the plants i would say use it

Bob i have a question because your grow space and choice of light is very close to mine and im just startin my first grow 15 days after germination right now. Anyway at what size did u start to flower with those compact floros how tall were your plants and approx. how much time did it take them to get that tall ?? and i saw your setup grow report how much did u yeild with that amount of light and how many plants did u harvest . you dont see to many people with a setup like ours but ill tell ya what ive seen 2 setups like this with the cf lights and they do produce if done right so cheers to all cf growers keep it goin get back to me bob . I just started a thread in the indoor room and will be updating every day or 2 the progress through the entire grow .

smoke till u choke then smoke some more

Miracle gro has quick releasing nutrients, which is fine for the plant. Miracle gro is a fine growing medium ( it's just like any other dirt ) The problem is there are only certain nutrients the plants need in Miracle gro and because it's fast releasing nutrients, you'll need to provide the plant with additional nutirents in the near future, the reason this is a problem.. is because it opens up many problems you can run into from over or under fertilization...

whereas a higher quality soil has much more nutrients, and they're also slow releasing nutrients to ensure that the soil will last the life of the plant...

in some cases really high grade soild can be reused.. 2 or sometimes even 3 times

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

There are no rules to growing plants... but don't expect everything to go as smoothly as the guy next to you.

P.S. I'm getting really fucking sick, so you may not see me around much right now.

    fucking.. shit..

Amen, Miracle grow fert is at best incomplete. And MG soil is inconsistent at best. That being said, I've seen some good crops grown straight in the Oklahoma red clay dirt!!!
