A SCENARIO filled with unknowns
Please tell me what you think soul-diers
Due to medical regulations i am working out a few scenarios to try and maximize this summers outdoor adventures.
The three strains i am mainly working with all finish right in mid October. I do not want to place my family or I at risk by having too much herb in the home, processed. Instead we'll smoke it all! So tell me if this could work...
By using a covering, initiate flowering before the natural flowering cycle begins outside. I have already done this. My question is, if i cover plants during a time outside when they would be veging, when the natural flowering period happens with the sun, would they still need to be covered.
In other words, say for instance where i live plants begin to flower on aug. 1st. If i were to start them flowering july 15th using a covering and putting them on 12-12, could i then stop using the cover on or around aug 1st? when plants begin to flower outside, is the light to dark ratio at 12-12?
Sometimes my questions even confuse me:wtf:allrollsin21 Reviewed by allrollsin21 on . my thought is yes.
It's the photo period that you are controlling.
12/12 is 12/12 weather in a box or outdoors.
anyone else?

I'd say no, while i agree with what blink says that don't tell the full story. I'd suspect that August the 1st isn't 12/12. The natural light change from summer to autumn is gradual getting shorter by a few minutes each day. If you start 12/12 mid july then on aug 1st the actual light cycle is 14/8 then the change may cause some problems either delaying flowering or with hermies.
Personally i'd check what the natural light cycle is on aug 1st for your location and start that light cycle by covering in mid july rather than going straight to 12/12.
e2a but that still may not work as the plants may still need to wait till the natural light gets short enough to fully ripen the fruits
Ideally you want someone who's done this before tho, but that's what i'd do.
Good luck!

point taken.
I have not done this b4.
I watch the news every mornign and just after the weather they give the hours of daylight.
Here is a link to hours of daylight by latitude. i am sure if you search for more than the 5 seconds I did, you can come up with something for your area, that will tell you exatly how lon the day is (or isn't).

blink thanks for the link. It worked.
Hudson that is just what i was concerned about, and you hit the nail on the head. The graph i viewed above seems to insist that the sun will not be 12-12 until mid july. end of aug it will be more like 14-10.
So i guess that just means being available everyday, two times, at the same hour for the ladies. This i have been doing for two months, and it has in fact gotten this lazy exbartender waking earlier than ever before!
Thanks again for the hypothesis.
