Do you by chance know the ph of the snow? Or the general hardness? Or the contaminates in the snow? I'm guessing that with all those plants, a Britta filter is out of the question...but a R/O hooked-up to the bottom of a 40 gallon trash can, (using an aquarium bulkhead) or something similar might help. I'm pretty sure there would be enough water pressure at the bottom, to drive the R/O filters.
