This part of your post sold me right here. I had completely forgotten tying into the grid and reselling your power back to the company. I'd be interested in knowing if that 17-18k figure was his adjusted/corrected power usage or just his overall.

ps: Doesn't change the fact that Al Gore lacks the common sense that even a 5 year old would have. On a positive note.. at least he did save us from ManBearPig. Everyone says he won the nobel prize for his environmental efforts but we all know it's due to his battle and eliminating ManBearPig.
