Dual spec cfl

Just saw a dual spec 125w cfl with hanger on ebay for £32 (inc. postage) anyone think this would be worth buying for a micro-grow to save buying one blue one red?

personally, i'd say no, first 'cause 125wtts is kinda light (no pun intended) on power, i'd use over 200wtts (actual, not equivalent)

also, it's not as versatile as several smaller bulbs
mj needs reds and blues throughout it's life cycle, you just want more blue during vegetative growth and more red during flowering

in veg you want about a 3 to 1 ratio, blue to red, watt for watt
in flowering you want about a 1 to 2 ratio, blue to red, watt for watt

also, smaller bulbs are considerably less expensive (locally, i get 3 packs of 23wtt bulbs for $6.88 so 2 of those equals 6 bulbs totalling 138wtts for under $15.00)

another thing to consider is the heat issue, CFL's run hot, with your 125wtts spread over several bulbs, you spread your light over a wider area, much closer to the plants and, you spread your heat out so it is easier to deal with

anyway, that's my thinking, good luck whatever you decide
