SnS, sorry about the AKs, what a bummer. There's nothing wrong with T-12s, in fact they have their advantages. They cost more to run than T-5, but the initial investment is much less, and they run cool unlike T-5. You can let the plants grow right into the lights with only minimal heat stress. T-5's will fry em. The most important thing to consider is the color of light. A 6000K will do way better than the more common 4100K shop light, which is right in the middle of the dead zone for chlorophyll activity.

or could overdrive them with a T12 ballast from a 8ft 2 bulb T12 light,can also get 2pks of 3000k/6500k @ HD for 7$ so they are cheaper than T5

Yeah that's correct for flowering, at least until someone tells us where we could get t-5 2700, or better yet 2500. Stinky says they're available. I can't find them.

Those bulbs are a good price too, don't know about shipping and customer service. I guess stinky was right, what else is new.

SnS, ideal would be 2500, but to be more specific 2460, and second choice is 2700, but preferably 2750. I know that's asking a little much, but 2700 should do real nice. According to the chart, roughly twice the chlorophyll activity of 3000K.
