No rocks, perlite. Lots of perlite!!! And drain holes. Extra ones. The downward-cupped leaves mean rootbound. Just slide the plants out of their homes to check and see. Do a soil runoff test too.
Some of that low yellowing may be caused by insufficient light to those leaves as well.

thanks stinky. they sell perilite at regular stores? cuz the grow store is too far away for the budget.

been doing lots of reading and future soils coming in to the room will be different. dont know what yet but florida and "non-sterilized" dont go well together.

I saw some perlite @ wallyworld , is there something else that can be used instead of the perlite that works the same as perlite?

Vermiculite is ALMOST as good but you can get perlite pretty much anywhere, including home depot. I'm actually surprised you aren't using it yet- if I'd known that I would have told you ages ago! I think a lot of your problems have been from lack of soil lightener actually; root rot forms in wet heavy soil. It doesn't need to be STERILE, but it needs to be FRIABLE and LIGHT.
    Just check the root ball...

    whats up WT & DB,

In my soil grows I used both perlite and vermiculite mixed into the soil, well actually soil and coco mix. Have you heard of the brand ROYAL GOLD they make
a mix called BASEMENT MIX very light, w/ lots of perlite and lava rock the roots of my seedlings thrive in this mix along w/ a lil OREGONISM XL... Then when their ready to transplant I go to something hotter, and less lighter like MENDO MIX from ROYAL GOLD or AMAZON BLOOM don't know if it's available in FL. Next time I do a soil grow I'm gonna try the soil mixes from the ROOTS ORGANICS line I'm pretty sure it's only available out this way, I have seen some of their products online though.

veggii, perlite helps add air to the soil, and vermiculite helps maintain moisture. I stopped using vermiculite except for germination and rooting.
