    end of summer strain saves?

Some medical growing communities don't allow indoor and outdoor gardens simultaneously. Do ya'll have any suggestions as to how an outdoor gardener can save strains at the end of the season and move them inside?
Is it possible to Root Clones outdoors? Can a plant(mama) be placed under a porch light and be kept in the veg state through the fall?
Any help would be fantastic. your wonderful:thumbsup:

    end of summer strain saves?

Ok i'll go first. Get this ball s momentum in a forward direction:thumbsup:

One good method could be to spread the strain far and wide to numerous growers in the hopes it would be saved by the sheer number of familiar people with it. This has been done.
Any other suggestions? Or answers to the questions posed above?
    Thanks team :hippy:

If the problem is having two gardens, then axe the outdoor one in the winter; then you only have the one indoors. Is it possible for you to move your entire setup indoors so you don't have to worry about seasons?

Is it possible to Root Clones outdoors?
Yes you can root clones outdoors, though sometimes they have a bit harder time than under nice indoor setups. They may take a bit longer to get established, but if you use a cloning tray it is very possible. Cloning trays usually are small pots with clear lids that can be placed over them to keep out pests, keep moisture in, and provide some greenhouse effect. Think of them as mini greenhouses. They aren't too expensive and I have seen very nice plants cloned in this way.

Can a plant(mama) be placed under a porch light and be kept in the veg state through the fall?
A porch light will not emit enough light to keep a plant in veg. You might try a close CFL or shoplight. If it is possible to mount such lighting relatively inconspicuously where you need it, I would suggest a more powerful light such as mentioned. If you leave it in near total sun in the fall, and leave a high intensity light (such as a flood lamp) on all night long you may prevent some flowering, but you are walking a fine line there. You are also drawing attention to the big bright spot that is always lit up every night.

This is a very good way to ensure the survival of a strain, and yes it has been done and is one of the primary methods of perpetuating genetics. Several of the senior members around here have experience in this specific field and are very knowledgeable about it. You may even find some around here who will help you keep a strain alive and propagate it when you cant, then send you clones or seeds back (I can't claim to have never done this myself).

    end of summer strain saves?

Delta thanks for thoroughly addressing all my wonders.
I definitely shut down the outdoor at the end of summer and move inside, i just am trying to be able to have plants that are in veg then. Without risking the police, at a time(harvest) that is quite risky round these parts.
By cloning tray do you me one of the clear humidity domes? The ones that sit on top of the black plastic trays? I was thinking of that with a heat pad underneath in the night time. I am guessing the clones should be kept in the shade at all times? The sun is probably too hot for unrooted girls.

scratch the light idea. I live on a hill and don't want to light up the valley below:wtf:

    Thanks for your help!!

Those should be the ones. I just call them cloning trays because thats what I see them used for quite often.
