I would find a used hybrid honda. when you buy new and drive the car off the lot it goes down 25% in value. I see used honda hybrids all day long on CL.

Resale value shouldn't even enter into it unless your gonna swap out cars avery 2 or 3 years.....that being the case, your better off leasing. Personally I average 250,000 miles on a vehicle before I get rid of them and buy another. To do so sooner is a waste of money, unless you got a throw-away car in the first place.

Did you ever sit down and figure out just exactly how much it costs to own/drive a vehicle?? If you don't track these costs, then you probably need to.

FWIW, the *average* operating cost of my Tundra is $1258.42/month, driving an average of 29,000 miles per year. That includes note, insurance, fuel, maint/repairs, washing it, etc. If I didn't have the 6cyl and get 18mpg while toting 1,000lbs in the back all the time, the costs would be a lot higher. I shudder to think what the costs would be for a big V-8 or diesel

Figure the costs to operate for both the honda and the toyota and see which is going to be the better value.
