WTF IS WRONG WITH MY BABYS!?

i am currently growing about 70 seedlings in rockwool cubes untill i buy some pots to transplant them to, for a while they were growing nice and green, but fairly slow, at first i thought i was overwatering but now i think i might be underwatering, some of the plants around the edges are growing the same they were before but alot of the plants in the middle their leaves have shriveled up, turned brown, and are crispy, they are in a field with no trees around and they get light all day long can someone please help me as to what i should do so i dont loose these baby's?
here are some pictures of some of the healthy plants, some of the unhealthy plants, and the tray i have them in, in the field.

It looks like underwatering. Did you water them daily?

Rockwool needs to be pH'd to 6 before use. It is hydroponic, so subsequent waterings/.feedings also need to be adjusted. Once you transplant to soil, that changes. At that point, give pH 6.7 feedings. It also contains NO nutes whatsoever, and you'll want to start feeding at a 1/4 strength (or less to begin with) grow fert. They look scorched from heat and need to be taken care of more often at that age, especially in bright sunlight.

I'm with Stinky....you haven't even bought pots for them yet? Sounds like you need a much better plan to carry them through to finish. They DO look pretty burned.

I would move those Babbie's into a shadier spot. It looks like they burnt up. Maybe you want to put them under a tree were they can catch a break. If it was me I would just move them in under a floro until they healthy up some. Being that your outdoors I would use a tree. Should work just as good probably better w/ mother nature.

BTW the heat-retaining black plastic tray didn't help. Start seedlings under flourescent lights whenever possible. It is easier to monitor their health and notice problems before they progress past the point of no return. Outdoors under direct sun, you might leave them in the morning and return to find them dead by dusk. Once you 'learn the plant', you will be able to judge when to put them outside, and how to manage them. Rockwool outdoors isn't going to work in 99.9% of cases. It requires frequent waterings (like every few hours frequent) to stay moist in hot weather.
