Advice Please! Take our harvested bud on holiday or risk leaving for a week?
My mum has been growing 4 lowryders for us and they were harvested and will have been drying for about 2 weeks when we are due to go on holiday for a week and i have no one to check them, should I take the bud with me in an airtight container and give it air.. or leave it to dry hanging in our cupboard.. with no ventilation? :S (as we'll have to lock it when away).
Any advice greatly welcomed! At the moment im swaying towards taking it on holiday with us as i can check on it in the tubs regulary and hopefully smoke as i go.. if its ready, will it be?

To dry bud you should have a constant airflow or they will not dry that fast and can be subject to mold. 2 weeks of drying is a lot. If the branches snap in more then one place then they are all dried and can be put into a jar and sealed.

Thats brilliant, ok.. will spend the remains of the time i have (6 days) drying the best way i can and hopefully it will be ready to seal up and take with us, thanks!
One thing though, i cant get glass jars ANYWHERE... as an emergency alternative, whats better.. coffee jars, baby food jars or plastic tupperware containers, does anyone know?
Thanks so much, and sorry to sound like such a noob its just its mine and my mums first growing adventure together and a holiday at this crucial time isnt convieniant. lol

Any jar will or tupperware will do. The reason for a glass jar is that they last a long time, usually come with a seal of some kind, and when you put your herb in there, after a while you can collect all the trichs and powder at the bottom to be put on a bowl. Just make sure the vessel is clean and make sure you store it in a dry and dark place.

Thats great, thanks so much mate! You've really put my mind at ease, when your new to growing/harvesting/curing etc theres such alot of info out there but often it differs slightly and can have one most confused at the "right" technique. I've come to the conclusion there probably isnt one except from learn from good old fashioned experience and the knowledge of you good people. So much apreciated!

I've heard plastic containers may affect the taste/smell of curing bud. I myself have had to resort to them, though, when I ran out of glass jars (haha a good problem to have when harvesting). Unfortunately, I have no sense of smell so I could not have told a difference if they had not been stolen from me.

It's not worth the risk of travelling with your herb just to ensure a proper dry. Hang it in front of the air conditioner until you leave, then jar it up, or put it in paper bags.
Please no discussion of taking any type of public transportation or crossing international borders with weed, as this is against the sites no-smuggling guidelines, thanks.

First of all, thanks for the sound advice.. for the extra bud we dont need to risk taking we are going to store in brown paper bags.
Secondly, I wasnt talking of any kind of public transportation or indorse doing so in any way. I have my own car and cross no international borders as im only going to a destination within my own country. I have to take some with me as i use for medicinal purposes and wouldnt be able to have a holiday without it. First time away in years, im nervous and excited! But sorry to have offended or broke any rules. Well.. im off tomorrow so i guess im out. But thanks for all the response and input. much apreciated
