$84M in marijuana plants seized in Harnett County

BROADWAY, N.C. â?? A marijuana eradication effort in western Harnett County turned up an estimated $84 million in plants growing in a wooded area near Broadway, authorities said Wednesday.
With assistance from a state Highway Patrol helicopter, Harnett County deputies, State Bureau of Investigation agents and members of the North Carolina National Guard Drug Team located eight plots off Womack Road that contained a total of 35,000 marijuana plants, authorities said.
The plants were 1 to 4 feet high and were worth an estimated $84 million, authorities said.
No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning, but authorities said investigators seized equipment to water and fertilize the plants and to protect them from animals and insects.

I didn't think there was much of an "eradication" effort here, given that cannabis has been decriminalized in North Carolina and all that.

Normally I only hear about busts in the news that come from pulling over vans on I-40. I didn't know the fucking armed forces were flying around in helicopters, but from what I've seen on the news of this bust it looked like a fucking operation you would see in Iraq. What a fucking dumb-ass waste of my tax dollars!

I'm going to have to be extra careful this year. I was going to grow my 7 or 8 plants all in one spot. Now I think I'll break that up into two spots at least. Plus I've seen helicopters following the creek in my back yard before too... which is an ominous sign.

I wish I didn't have to fucking scurry around like a rat in the underbrush just to get my hands on some good f*#king indica!

7 or 8 plants is a bit different then 35,000. I would think you are okay. Those people did a lot of work to that place from what it looks like in the photos. keep some brush around your plants.
