I can't say for sure. But i've read about and experienced purple stems several times...well..everytime actually.

What i've come to find, as far as the purple stems are concerned, is that light intensity/available light has a lot to do with it. I have 4' T8 fluorescents in my veg room and everything in there has purple stems, but otherwise healthy. As soon as i put them under my HPS in flowering the stems go green. Perhaps it's the new nute solution in the flowering Res, but i tend to think it's the lights that bring on the improvement.

who knows. all my grows so far start off great then crash about 4 weeks into flowering. Damned learning curve. i hope i was able to help. good luck.

Reddish purple stems are usually a sign of phosphorus def. That's why I'm thinking lockout. And I'm curious how often you actually check your ph italian.....at least daily?

True purple stems are a usually strain related imo......it takes awhile to be able to tell the difference but generally there is one. I personally have found that def related purple stems tend to be more of a reddish color.

i check the pH 2-3 daily. IMO it looks like where the light is hitting is changing the color just a lil bit. im pretty sure its not a lockout or a def. the other branches shaded a little bit from the rest of the plan are still green. remember, the bigger plant was transplanted so im really not too worried about it. i have my cannazym coming in the mail. the roots are starting to grow tremendously on all the plants. and the 2 1/2 week old plants look great!! thanks for all the advice WH. b looking for updates on the plants in the hydroponics section under "test run in DWC" i got some new pics up. peace

idk the temp in my grow closet but its definitely around 70-80 and the stems that get hit by light are purple and underside and parts not hit by light are not purple

I don't think it's anything to worry about

i dont either. just got my air cooler in today. fuckin sweet!! i do have a couple questions tho. so my closet is going to have a veg area and a flower area. is it bad if the 1000w hps mixes with the light in the veg area?? should i keep the two areas separated all the time. i have a huge tarp i am going to put up so the flowering area stays pitch black at night. but during the day is it fine to have both sections open??
