Not offended but I think your view and most peoples in here are extremely skewed. Falling prey to the stereotype of what Emo kids are.

Just like in anything there are extremists that stand out. Look at fanatical Christians, extremist Muslims, PETA, Nation of Islam (some of them), and many other organizations..

The individual does not reflect the masses.

Also many of what people all Emo when seen in public are actually just your regular run of the mill scenesters.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I will defend their freedom to voice it but I thought I would point out the obvious lack of respect to other human beings whom have probably done nothing to you.

It's a culture, and while you don't have to enjoy it or participate in it.. you should respect that it's their culture.

Daihashi, you are ever the respectable voice of reason in these arguments. Man, I hate seeing statements like, 'If your life sucks, just end it already!'.

It is possible to have a profound sense of malaise over what is, in fact, and ugly world, without being suicidal. I respect those who carry on long-term discussions of the sadness of modern life far more than I respect those who blithely run pointless errands in their SUVs with a cup of Starbucks epoxied to their perfectly-manicured hands, trying to ease that malaise with the trappings of suburban 'culture'. That's an image that says nothing to me but, 'look at how much money I can spend on having a perfect life... and my kids are STILL abusing their ADD meds!!! I love suburbia!!! I'm still not really sure what to think about the hair-over-one-eye thing. In a culture where it is respectful to look someone clearly in the eyes while conversing with them, as a sign that you are paying attention, I have a hard time talking to someone who has the appearance of not caring to listen.
