My grow log
doesn't exist. I don't keep one. I don't understand the need for one unless you're a breeder, so I just don't do that.
I have researched the web I don't see anything that says Superthrive is full of urea. Unless somebody can show me how it is, I'm going to think it isn't.
What Stinky wrote was: Nitrogen tells a plant to "grow leaves." This is not accurate. All the plants outdoors never get an extra shot of nitrogen, and they flower as their genetics and hormones would have it happen. The indoor grower needs to be concerned with the light cycle when it comes to changing veg to flower. You can reduce nitrogen if you want, but it would be best to make no fert changes until the last week or so of flower. That's when you stop ferting. If you want to try a shot of phosphorus in the first week of flower, go ahead, but remember you can give your plants too much of a good thing.
Stinky's "idee fixe" definition is basically the same as what I gave, only worded differently. I wrote "details," plural.
I've noticed that the "All you need is here" thread had several hundred views but very few people have responded. There's a few who think I'm an asshole and rude and whatnot, but I'm wondering about everyone else. Hopefully there's some people out there who get what I'm saying. It's not a new method and it may not even be a better method but it works and it's simple.
I used to know somebody who grew a thousand indoor plants. She was also stoned all day, every day, and became very difficult to get along with. She had so much memory loss and confusion, she left a table saw out in the rain ruining it because she forgot she moved it outside. She was also a cloning machine, making several hundred clones every two weeks. She said she was probably earning around 60K a year in production. I could put up a grow log based on that event but since people here think I'm an asshole, I'm not going to bother. But the grow was kickass!wayward Reviewed by wayward on . My grow log doesn't exist. Are you still bent out of shape from the all you need is here thread? Your posts seem to have a negative tone to them. While I like the fact that you would like to contribute to the Cannabis tree of knowledge, saying that keeping a log is useless is very ignorant. There are many strains as you know and we, as a community, have not grown them all. Keeping logs are vital for other growers to take the guesswork out of growing that strain. Why would anyone be against writing info down for others to benefit from? Sounds like a pretty ignorant statement.

1000 plants and only 60k a year? those must be the smallest plants ever

Yes, Jefferson, the plants were small. Only grew for sixty days, if that much.
I never said keeping a log is useless. What I've said is I don't see the point unless you're a breeder. I haven't discussed strains at all. Keep a grow log if you want. Keep a grow log if it helps. I don't do that. If you want to talk strains then you're talking more like a breeder, not just a grower, and I've already implied that a log then is probably a good idea. And no, I'm not still upset about the "all you need" thread, but I had to start a new one to answer some issues because Stinkyattic closed the "all you need" thread.
Frosty, she wasn't the smartest gal around, you're right. But it wasn't growing that caused her to be like that. It was more due to the fact that she was stoned all day, every day. That was the problem.
I don't know if her 60K a year was before or after expenses. Probably after but I don't know; I never asked. She was good at hiding money. She was also good at losing it. I remember years ago, I knew someone who showed up one day real happy. When somebody asked him what he was so happy about, he said "I just found 10K in a hole in my house that I hid back in the days when I was stoned and paranoid and didn't want the cops to find it." Nice find, huh?

Like I said before, a grow log doesn't have to be for yourself. I don't keep one for my own benefit, its used so OTHERS don't have to do the guesswork. Its called making a contribution to the community. Written info for others is priceless. Are you so ignorant that you can't see past the fact that knowledge is key. And yes, you mention Stinky in just about every thread you post to about not having a sticky or getting off on the wrong foot. You haven't let it go but I understand being frustrated in a place where people don't respect you but c'mon man don't lie to yourself. I can go back and forth with you but in the end your idea of not passing down knowledge for others because you think its for just for breeders sums it up right there. A never ending battle of ignorance.

You're right, it's a never-ending battle....
You see, my position this whole time has been one of simplicity. I'm telling people it can be easier. You can have the grow you want without fighting pH, deficiencies in your ferts, etc. You can call me negative if you want, but just because somebody else can hit you with a bunch of "you need this and you need that" doesn't mean they're right either. For example, Stinky suggested to someone that they spray dead and dying leaves with coriander oil to restore the shine. Those leaves are dead and the oil isn't going to change that.
You remember what I wrote about somebody I knew growing one thousand plants? What she used to say about forums like this is that people who use these things have their heads so far up their butts, they need a plexiglass stomach to see out of. I don't necessarily share that idea, but now that I've been given so much resistance (people calling me asshole, rude, and saying I'm not making friends), I understand what she was talking about. In these forums it's not so much about knowledge as it is about socializing in a place where you're accepted for just being a stoner.
Years ago, in Overgrow, there was a new guy to the forum using the name of "Hurtback." This guy had injured his back and was using the plant as medicine. Hurtback was growing in hydro and showed people a way to set up a grow circuit with buckets and tubing and pumps to keep the water/fert mix constantly flowing. He said that once you did this, the balance would stabilize between the aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, which would promote root development and maintain the pH. He said it was the same system used in aquariums to maintain the water enviroment for the fish without doing anything else. He said the key was to simply keep the water moving. After a while, people in the forum started to flame him and why I don't know. But they were hostile toward him, probably because they couldn't understand what he was saying. After several days of getting flamed, Hurtback called it quits and the board never saw him again. It's no surprise.

that describes Hurtback's system. He called it BioBucket and I don't know if BigToke is the same guy but it's exactly the same system I remember from 8 years ago. Mind you, this is not the simplicity I have been referring to. What I have been describing in other threads is a soil grow, not hydro. I post this link just for your information only. Wow, you are a persistent little gadfly now, aren't you.
Since we don't allow re-posting content of locked or deleted threads, and aside from this one, I see that you posted referencing a flame war on that thread in yet ANOTHER thread, I think it may be time for you to sit back and observe how people behave on the internet for a while.
In response to your continued need to go around saying how wrong I am:
The contents of SuperThrive are an industry secret. But any grower who has killed a plant with it will tell you- it's N overdose, pure and simple. Maybe when I'm bored I'll take a sample to the lab and to a TN analysis on it.
Don't tell people to use a veg fert until the last week of flower. Are you nuts? Remember what you said about 'the company makes it, therefore it works'? By YOUR OWN [rather faulty] logic, the fact that bloom ferts exist in a zillion packagings means there's a reason for their existence. Using non-faulty logic, just read the [useless] grow logs of experienced growers. See what they are doing.
Misting coriander oil onto damaged leaves isn't to make them 'shiny'; however, when you see the shine, you know you have a good application on there. The reason is to encapsulate fungal spores that can take hold on necrotic tissue, prevent moisture loss from damage to the plant's natural waxy cuticle, and discourage and even suffocate pests.
Your continual bashing of 'stoned people' also really isn't going to be a way to make friends here. I don't know if you've noticed, but our membership is comprised of a bunch of hard-working, intelligent people, including many many tradesmen with their own businesses. There is a level of work ethic that you haven't bothered to notice yet. The care taken in the construction of grow rooms in peoples' [worthless, as you say] logs is impressive.
And last, this isn't about socializing. This is about community learning. Your negative attitude isn't conducive to that; where you go, you spread misinformation and start little fires for me to put out. I don't have the time, because of my work schedule, which would surprise you, since OMG!I like to smoke weed.
Anyway, enjoy your vacation.
