i would say the best growin temps would be between 70 and 80 degrees, give or take. If the temperature varies too much, your plants may end up hermaphrodite. GOod luck!

Hi Gramps. I like to keep my girls at mid to upper 70's F and they are healthy, healthy, healthy. Take a look at a few pics on my thread "OK to flower with HPS & MH".
A point of interest in High Times mag in the Sept 03 issue is an article titled, "What's the dif?" It discusses the DIFference between nightime and daytime temps. You can manipulate the plants hormones with temp control. In a nutshell, they say that the closer that the nightime temp is to the daytime temp the more internode elongation will be impeded. That means shorter plants which use light more efficiently and produce denser nugs. Of course heating and cooling cost money so weigh the benfits and do your best. It is an excellent article for those who want to maximize their potential by controlling the entire enviroment to their benefit.
Stay cool Gramps! You will be offering your experience here before long.
