Pregnant Man denied job after drug test

Today on "Mostly True Stories: Urban Legends Revealed" around the mid 1990s a man went for a drug test in Chicago and was refused employment because He was Pregnant.

The catch was His temp was suspiciously low and....He was with His pregnant wife. He sued and lost because they were both ordered to give DNA samples and the urine tested positive for hers.

According to drug testing experts on the program no drug test would ever be tested for sex or pregnancy unless requested by one or both party's. I don't recall anything about legality and I don't know what year it was produced.

I thought I heard something about a pregnant man in the news weeks or months ago, must have been having a bad dream!

The accuracy of these 'pregnant man' stories are highly suspect.

Even on the off-chance that the labs would run such tests on a pregnant womans urine sample that was submitted by a man, the lab would not report that the man was pregnant, the lab would report that the man has prostate or testicular cancer.

The same HCG hormone that is elevated when a woman is pregnant is also elevated in males with prostate and testicular cancer.
