noob cab grow questions

I want to construct a single platform hold 8 6500K CFL bulbs to said platform. Was wondering if anyone had suggestions on a DIY hood or as to placement of the fixtures. BTW cab = 28" long 36' high and 16' deep made of patio grade quarter inch plastic something. lighting is from 8750 - 9150 lumens this is for veg only

how about something like this? not an expensive hood but then, you will have the light so close to the plants that a hood isn't really needed. not to mention, this cost me under $5.00 for the fixture and $1.50 each for the y-splitters, so thats like $11.00 for the fixture, not too shabby
