Setup suggestions? (split)

LIVE IN south. Ca on over 3 acres; am building a house. No green thumb. plan to build gro room in house or should i build something outside; Get some snow in winter and extreme heat in summer. ALL SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO DESIGN IT TO HAVE BUILT WITH HOUSE REQUESTED! Then, can anyone recommend a good book 'the gro book for dummies?' THANKS FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS AND HELP! Finally, got Medical permis.: have been printing mix for dirt and feeding: I AM NOT A BUILDER OR GOOD WITH A HAMMER or I wouldn't have a medical need. Getting off opiates and will appreciate any advice, directions, what seed to use for serious spinal problems--what ever skill you can spare? Would it be a very good idea to try to find someone else that knows how to gro with a MMJ to join in, like a Co-op? Or go solo? Thanks for your kindness and help in this forum!

Have read Grow FAQ's' and so much, I AM CONFUSED AND DID FIND A SIMPLE SET UP IN RUBBERMAID FROM 2006; is that better than building a lot of crap or any other thread I may have missed, equally helpful; like 'gro book for dummie?" THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU. :thumbsup:

Go on ebay and buy some grow dvd's i found 4 dvds for like $15 and they were all very good and informative!!!!

Just seems like I need to put it in with the house and not have a half-assed thing I can't work with or need to keep re-doing! Been reading a lot of LED info and figure it may be my best bet here. Meth lab are famous here--that is how 24 homes in this cove burned. All meth labs gone and cops never come out here unless someone calls on life and death stuff! When you see what I have to work with, it will blow you away!

Crap, just felt a tiny earthquake, very tiny! Easy to feel in an RV on a nice parcel with a great view of the valley and mountains I am nestled in! :rastasmoke:

Was living in N. Ca. for the Loma Prieta quake.
Actually saw a wave in solid concrete!
Moved to Kona just in time for the Kiholo quake.
I no complain about free rides.

Oh Yeah, I'm thinkin' with spinal problems you have decided to build a grow-room with grow room.
High ceilings, that is. You'll want the girls up off the floor a bit, but still have the option to grow tall.
Even with hydro and LEDs there's lifting and bending involved.
If I had the option to plan a grow-room, I'd have two rooms.
One for veg, one for bloom.
Both would have shelves at a height convenient for wheel chairs. Ditto the sink and electrical outlets.

I'm not in a chair yet, But am pretty sure I'm not gettin' younger. Also a good guess that electricity prices prolly won't drop much.
I like to plan ahaead.
A central atrium works well for high desert.
Plenty of free sunshine during growing season, protection from the constant wind, security, etc.
For clones and winter grows. A well insulated, secure, central room is best.
Won't need windows which ups your placement options.
I could rattle on, but I'm sure you've already thought about all this.

My main suggestion would be to have a dedicated circuit for each room (veg and flower) and I would make it at least 20amp and possibly 30amp. And I would run ductwork into it for heat and a/c with a damper so you can adjust it. One more thought, if I was building I would build exhaust in so you don't have to cut it in later.

wish I knew a more exact date on being cali bound PR...think I might be able to help . I would go for in/outdoor...I really dig weez and hatch's ideas...

If aeroponic, I'd also strongly suggest a Costco UPS (uninterruptible power supply).

It's one of the advantages of LEDs, for me.
We have power failures quite often here. I can plug LEDs into a small UPS and chortle as I light candles for us.
(Also use a UPS for my clocks, got tired of re-setting them)

While you are designing, don't forget a watertight floor with a drain.
And a good sturdy washable work table is a joy.
This is fun.
We're gonna want lots of pictures.
