    Iran speaker warns nuclear agency

Iran's new parliament speaker has warned that it could set limits on future co-operation with the United Nation's nuclear agency, the IAEA.

Former nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani said parts of the agency's latest report on Tehran's nuclear programme had been "deceitful" and "ambiguous".

Mr Larijani spoke moments after being overwhelmingly voted in as speaker by the conservative-dominated parliament.

The IAEA recently voiced "serious concern" about Iran's nuclear work.

The agency's latest report, issued on Monday, said it believed Iran may be withholding information about its controversial nuclear programme.

Some countries say the programme could be used to develop nuclear weapons, while Iran says it is for entirely peaceful purposes.

Addressing parliament in a speech broadcast live on radio, Mr Larijani accused the IAEA of secretly sharing information about the Iranian nuclear file with Tehran's critics in the UN security council.

"Parliament will not allow that such deceptions are made," Mr Larijani said.

"If they continue along this path, the new parliament will intervene in the case and set a new line for co-operation with the IAEA."

The comments drew chants of "God is great" and "Death to America" from the audience of MPs.

I'm sure the translation was incorrect....Probably more like "God is great"...."Best wishes to America".

IF there were concerns I don't see why they wouldn't open all doors in order to prove the IAEA wrong in front of the world and Allah.

This is a bombing raid just waiting to happen:

    - If Olmert exits and his government falls, polls indicate that hardliner Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud Party are well positioned to take power.
For Israel, Olmert scandal could mean government reshuffle or new elections - International Herald Tribune

-LOS ANGELES - Drawing a direct analogy between Iran and Nazi Germany, Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu asserted Monday that the Iranian nuclear program posed a threat not only to Israel, but to the entire western world. There was "still time," however, to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, he said.

"It's 1938 and Iran is Germany. And Iran is racing to arm itself with atomic bombs," Netanyahu told delegates to the annual United Jewish Communities General Assembly, repeating the line several times, like a chorus, during his address. "Believe him and stop him," the opposition leader said of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "This is what we must do. Everything else pales before this."

-All three of our current candidates have stated that they'll support Israel to the end. So which one will be the first flip to flop if shit breaks loose?

There are also a lot of "may be's" and "could be's" in this.

This guy is going to try and honestly compare Iran to Germany? C'mon man that is just a bit of a stretch.

This is what comes out of Iran....Ahmadinejad quotes:

    Threats against Israel

"Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury."

"Remove Israel before it is too late and save yourself from the fury of regional nations."

"The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land. As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map."

"If the West does not support Israel, this regime will be toppled. As it has lost its raison d' tre, Israel will be annihilated."

"Israel is a tyrannical regime that will one day will be destroyed."

"Israel is a rotten, dried tree that will be annihilated in one storm."
    Ahmadinejad quotes | Jerusalem Post

I agree with the stretch comparing Iran to Hitler but after these statements, what is a country of 10,000 sq. miles suppose to think or do?

This conflict between Israel and Iran is a given....my concern is how the U.S. will react and how the current candidates will react.

Israel has a lot of dirt and blood under their nails. I say let Israel handle their business and get on with their lives. If they have to strike, then they need to do it and stop all this BS with Iran. DO I think we should back them up...that can be debated.

Well, Carter exposed that they have 150+ nukes. What would be the ramifications on the rest of the world if we didn't back them up and they decided to launch because of imminent defeat? Have to keep in mind which way the fallout would travel also....seems that India would be in for deep shit and what would that bring in return?

I can't see that we, or other nations, would have much of a choice but to step in.

By the way, I agree with ya on Israel. I don't think that there is really a government with "clean nails".

Your anti-U.S. rhetoric has definately hit a new low. Unless you can point out countries we took over and planted our flag instead of thiers OR made comments that a certain country or race of people will be annihilated, your statement is nothing but dribble.
