South America Has A Gnome Problem

A town in South America is living in fear after several sightings of a 'creepy gnome' that locals claim stalks the streets at night.

A town in South America is living in fear after several sightings of a 'creepy gnome' that locals claim stalks the streets at night.

The midget - which wears a pointy hat and has a distinctive sideways walk - was caught on video last week by a terrified group of youngsters.

Teenager Jose Alvarez - who filmed the gnome - yesterday told national newspaper El Tribuno that they caught the creature while larking about in their hometown of General Guemes, in the province of Salta, Argentina.

He said: We were chatting about our last fishing trip. It was one in the morning.

I began to film a bit with my mobile phone while the others were chatting and joking.

"Suddenly we heard something - a weird noise as if someone was throwing stones.

"We looked to one side and saw that the grass was moving. To begin with we thought it was a dog but when we saw this gnome-like figure begin to emerge we were really afraid."

Jose added that other locals had come forward to say they had spotted the gnome.

He said: This is no joke. We are still afraid to go out - just like everyone else in the neighbourhood now.

"One of my friends was so scared after seeing that thing that we had to take him to the hospital.

Hahahahaha obviously fake but it made me giggle.

For some reason all I can think about is that Travelocity.com traveling gnome. What really gets me with that story (it was in the Sun, so it must be true) is that a whole town is supposed to be living in fear and terror because of a 16 inch tall gnome, that kind of looks like a mini clansmen) with a limp, that can be easily walked away from or hit with a stick.

That's exactly what I thought about while reading it. I guess we're both victims of the marketing campaigns.

I am soo sure those guys are that scared! Did you hear that scream? Obviously if gnome sightings are happening there, you can bet that the local chupacabra population may be in trouble. The chupacabras keep the gnomes in check. Looks like there needs to be some more research to see if we need to add chupacabras to the endangered species liist. Damn global warming!
Those guys should capture him, "not just his soul" and cut off his head and make a bong!

No match for chupacabras my friend! Their powers have no effect on them or shadowpeople!

Well, hell yes! I absolutely agree with you there! I would much rather meet a gnome in a dark alley than run into a chupacabra! But I'm just saying that a gnome is nothing to sneeeze at --- they seem harmless because of their small size and their stupid hats, but they are wiley and dangerous nonetheless.

Perhaps this gnome is just a hoax by some Brasilians to scare some Argentines?

    I smell a conspiracy haha.

Watch out for the black vans.

I don't know about all of you people but if I was outside smoking by bowl at night and this thing limped it's gome-y ass in my direction I would absolutely terrified.

Then I'd pick up something heavy.
