I understand ... in practice, the police generally charge you with everything they can think of ... then, your lawyer goes in and 'works the deal', throwing most of the charges out, in exchange for a guilty plea from you, to one or more charges ... that saves them time and money ... unless you're a real dangerous gangster, they really don't want to put you into an already over-crowded jail ... they want to get money FROM you, not spend money ON you ... it's an 'old boy' network, that almost always requires a shyster (sorry, I meant 'lawyer' ) to get you that plea-bargaining deal , however ... good luck :jointsmile:
