Because that's how it is for us here on Earth today. So I dunno about that whole theory. I'd much rather say "maybe", shrug, and wait for the people behind the curtain to fill me in after I've kicked it.

Well, yes and no. Mostly yes. I originally used the number 4252 because it was the # of a sailboat I had, but as soon as I discovered Douglas Adams, I started to read everything he wrote, the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy 5 book "trilogy" being my favorite. When I joined this forum, I shortened 4252 to 42, but realized right away it was also the number from the book; Deep Thoughts' answer to the question about life, the universe, and everything. So it seemed to fit.
I hear they're making a movie based on the first book. Know anything about it?
