Best Hydroponic Nutrients and Supplements

Remember just because it is sold by a 'hydroponics' company does not mean you can use it at max efficiency in a hydro system- this is about pH ranges. They are NT the same for soil vs hydro applications. The actual bottle needs to say basically THIS IS FORMULATED FOR HYDROPONICS. IF it doesn't, you might still be able to use it, but you WILL have to fiddle with the pH.

Fox Farm does have a nutrient specifically for hydroponics .. they recently added a 'hydroponics version' of their 'Grow Big' (3-2-6), soil version is 6-4-4, and their granulated fertlizers are pH-balanced, buffered ... it says so on the container, anyway, I didn't 'run it through my lab' ... my plants are loving the stuff

I should clarify my opinions here ... while I am having GREAT results from the Fox Farm products, I'm NOT saying they are any better than the competition, they're all good ... the General Hydroponics nutes definitely provided a 'cleaner' nutrient solution, and I was happy with them ... I save a lotta $$$ using the Fox Farms products (exception: as Rhyzome said, their 'Big Bloom' can be a bit pricey ... in soil, you have to use a lot of it, although, the Fox Farm hydro schedule calls for only 'one tablespoon per gallon', not all that bad) ... :jointsmile:

Im like image reaper im using FF hydro nutes and supplement package(open seseme, cha ching, big bloomz) and so far this is my first successful grow......ive been feeding them according to the FF schedule(I just use a medicine dropper for my kids medicine.....no ppm meter, i make sure the ph 5.8-5.9) and havent had one leaf dye or get nute burned not even the little baby leaves. Im using a perlite/Verm mixture and ive feed my seedling from day 4 since they poked out the ground. The sh*t is expensive though, but not compared to the ever rising price of good chronic.

I have some clones that are just getting out of the dome and im going to experiment witht the lucas formula....This would be half the price of my FF nutes. And my best friend swears by AN sensi a + b plus all the other stuff(taranchla, pirana, etc.).....for some reason the AN products where i live are half the price of GH nutes...so this would even be cheaper.

Cost break down for nutes in my area:
FF liquid nutes 3 pack - $38 for 3 liters liquid, FF Supplement 3 pack(3 pounds) $55 = $93

GH mirco and grow(2 gal) = $55

AN micro and grow(2 gal)= $36

I'm partial to AN myself. It just always seems to give me nice reliable results. I've never had one of those "holy crap" moments where the pH or ppm goes suddenly out of whack or anything like that. Compared to what I've read here I just seem to be stuck on easy mode.

Not a bad thing, imho.

I would say that I have tried too many nutrients to count, and the best nutrient supplement out on the market by far is golden tree by humboldts secret
