Myself, I use a product called ProEARTH that I get from a hydro store in Puyallup, Washington. It's 100% Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss, a bit of perlite, Ph balanced with starter nutes. About $15 for a large bag and plenty for filling 8, 12" pots. I've used it for 2 grows now and it kicks ass in my opinion; check out my grows from the links below. I also use nutes from the same store and have had good success with those too and I think I spent $20 for both the veg and flowering mixes (both 2 part - A/B) and this has been enough for 2 grows so far. Someone earlier in the thread made a comment that marijuana plants don't like acidic soil. Not sure on that one, I know I balance my water to a Ph around 6.2 - 6.0 (on the acidic side) and the plants love it.

    Good luck on your grow!
