this is what i do, and my buds are nice and fluffy, i hang them bout a week (in the dark), then a few days more i hang till the stems feel like they might break if i snap them, i do not lay them down to finish, i then put them in jars and open the lids a few times a day for lets say five minutes or so. then i seal them after a week. the buds in jars for very long i check on them to make sure no mold when i remember.
