It's obviously not a sovereignty/isolationist thing..since they never have a problem invading. Is it honestly due to "no interest there"? Because that is sad.
They, and other countries including Canada should be collaborating on a way to get in there and help these people. But lets face it, we need the US to help initiate things...they have the ability.
Anyone else..thoughts?
Well there are a number of issues I think you are overlooking.

We've offered help, and it's being accepted:

VOA News - U.S. Aid Reaches Burma
USAID Burma: Cyclone Nargis
washingtonpost.com - nation, world, technology and Washington area news and headlines
Burma Aid Is About Saving Lives, Not About Politics, Rice Says
Burma accepts more American aid - USATODAY.com

That was just from the first page of a simple google search containing "America burma aid".

Secondly, with a democrat senate and a conservative republican president.. chances of us just barging into a country to force them to take aid is going to be slim. ESPECIALLY with the upcoming elections.

Third, when we did just barge into Iraq it was done under the thought that Iraq was covertly creating nuclear arms and that they were helping to fund terrorist activity... this was also done in the aftermath of september 11th.

Given the situation today.. with the large disapproval rating, the huge debt, the contrasting democrat senate and conservative presidential office and the fact that they ARE acceptng aid... leaves no mystery as to why we are not just "Busting down doors" as you would say.
