So, my drummer gave me this bottle of canna oil

So, it was band practice and me and the drummer are sitting at his kitchen table, tokin.
He, through various conversations that I have no recollection of, gave me a 408 mL bottle of canna oil (100% thc apperantly) but Something is amiss.
I opened the bottle, and I smell something isnt right, but i was polite and didnt say anything.
I take it home and make my first cannafood. mac an cheese where I sub the butter for oil. And it was disgusting! This stuff, doesnt smell like any kind of weed smell. I can't even identify it.
Although I know theres thc in it, about an hour and half later I was fucking ripped.
But thats not the point.
This person didnt tell me when he got this stuff, but I assume it was a while ago. so the question is:
Is it possible for canna oil to spoil?
Or is this normal?
Will This spoil the taste of Brownies? Or will the chocolate take over?
Is there any way to test? Cause when I got the bottle it was already 3/4 full and now its about half full, and I'm saving it for when a very good freind of mine whom I havent seen in years
It is still green of color.
To answer the simple questions
No, nothing I say can be absolutly verified.
No, I do not know what kind of weed was used, or what kind of oil was used. I pray to the gods that it was coconut oil but it doesnt have any trace of a coconut smell either.
Any help would be very deeply appericiated.

Sure - oil can go rancid. According to food science god Harold Mcgee, "rancid fat won't necessarily make us sick, but it's unpleasant..." If you've ever eaten a bad nut - that's rancidity. It can really taste unbelievably bad. There's no way to fix it that I'm aware of - the oil has been broken down by oxidation.

You didn't mention feeling anything but fucking ripped, so it doesn't sound like it did you any harm. You could pour it into capsules & avoid the taste if the effect seems worthwhile to you.

(Also, cannabutter may be quite strong, but it's not "100% thc" by a long shot. Sounds like it worked nicely though. Except for the taste.)

If it is "thinner than honey" it doesn't sound like it was made with coconut oil. I assume you meant thinner than honey at room temperature, and coconut oil is a solid at room temperature...

Although, I don't think you can complain about it not being coconut oil (I'm not saying you were complaining) because apparently whatever oil it is, it works very well. And it was free.
