Newbie Yellow/Dry Leaves
I'm new to growing this is my first one.
I've set up my grow indoor in 2 rubbermaid 36 gal tubs.
I'm using potting soil (09-04-06) which was the only soil mixture i could find at my local gardening store.
I've just been using water from the tap. Been watering every few days last time i watered i used a little bit of miracle grow because i thought the problem may be due to nitrogen deficiency
The plants are about 2 months old now (started mid Feb.)
As far as nutes go I've been using miracle grow/a 12-6-6 plant food (comes in the form of pellets) about once a week not full strength (also not using both every week).
I'm using CFL bulbs (only 6 14 actual W 5500K)
Temp has be pretty constantly around 84-86 F and humidity is good.
Right now they're on a 24 hour light cycle.
Ventilation is kind of weak I have a case fan at the top drawing off hot air and a passive intake near the bottom of the box.
I recently tested the pH of the soil and it was a little basic looked like 7.0
Both of my plants are showing some yellow spots on the younger/middle leaves throughout the leaves. On one of the plants there are some leaves that look pretty dead near the bottom, and the leaves are curling in from the sides.
Is the problem a pH one? Nitrogen deficiency? Thanks in advance for the advice.Setzer12 Reviewed by Setzer12 on . Newbie Yellow/Dry Leaves I'm new to growing this is my first one. Overnute/ph and or fert buildup.
Throw away the miracle grow.....
Heavy duty flush with ph correct water......then 1/4 strength ferts.....preferably NOT miracle grow.

Right......the MG is just a sideline....I think there are just too many nutes in there period.....miracle grow or otherwise.

I honestly couldn't say but I'd guess no......hmmmm you really need input from a soil pro.....which isn't me.....but I would still flush.
I don't have a clue what an acid loving plant is.....but I'd imagine thats something with a lower ph than you want......which may be part of your problem as well.

sigh...my plants have gotten worse.
I tried flushing them with the correct pH water.
Yesterday I noticed some white mold or something on soil. I'm thinking maybe I have rot root? I'll take some more pics, but what do you guys think? I think I read that some H202 will help with rot root; what ratio of hydrogen peroxide to water should I use (its 3% H2O2)?
