I'm big on astronomy and you have to understand the sheer distances we're talking about. The nearest star to us is lightyears away and even if that solar system itself had intelligent life its just not practical for ships from there to come here for casual or even scientific voyages to our planet. These beings would have to have significantly long lifespans comparable to our own in order to even survive an endeavor like that. The reality of what we're saying is mind boggling and very humbling to even consider what it would take for something like this to happen. And for those who would like to argue the speed of the craft in question. Think of the speed of a bullet and how you cant even see that passing you by and even by the slight chance that you do thats nowhere near the speed it would take even leave our atmosphere let alone lightspeed which is 186,000 miles per SECOND and that translated into miles per hour is 669,600,000 and the distance a light-year covers is roughly 5,865,696,000,000 miles. To put that into proportion for everyone the circumfrance of our own earth is only slightly more than 24,000 miles and the speed it takes a space shuttle to leave our atmosphere is roughly around 23,000 miles per hour. Not to mention that even in space itself the faster you want to travel the energy required to propel something inreases exponentially. And for anyone who wants to argue the worm-hole theory, first figure out the time-space continuum THEN configure a fool-proof blue-print of an object capable of creating and sustaining a worm-hole long enough to travel to travel to a destination. THEN and only then will we debate what the possible effects of you travelling thru this wormhole. Such as radiation, being anatomically rearranged etc etc...

I agree about the difficulty of traveling between stars and how unlikely it is that another race of beings from another star have come to earth. Space is so vast that the odds that they would visit this planet among the billions and billions out there are very low. And TIME is so vast too that it is very unliley that they would happen to visit NOW. Even if they did pick here and now, like you mentioned, the energy and time involved to travel through space even to a very close star are unimaginable.

However, all of those limitations are rooted in our current understanding of physics and engineering, which are not complete and constantly changing. We routinely take for granted things today that would have been impossible a hundred years ago. In fact many of the things we do today probably could have been PROVEN to even be THEORETICALLY impossible not very long ago. So while I agree that what you say is true for our current understanding, I'm not so sure I agree that it will be true in another thousand years (or another million or billion). These technical problems may possibly be overcome by a very advanced extraterrestrial species who has had a few thousand years of experience with advanced physics and engineering. Who knows?

People do see these unexplained things pretty often. I'm hoping that now that every phone in the world seems to have a camera built in, we can get some good pictures of some of these things and maybe have a shot at understanding what they are. When more than one person sees something unlike anything else we experience in normal day-to-day life, it's hard to just discount it, and it makes you wonder. You can't prove they are or aren't ETs, but I do believe people sometimes see amazing things that can't be explained, and I don't think it is all just hallucinations and mass hysteria.

Maybe these flying saucers are being used by gnomes: http://boards.cannabis.com/current-e...e-problem.html
