This is something i never imagined

so, after smoking up today, i was flipping through the satellite radio, and for some reason i stopped on a jazz channel, on a whim if you would. And i realized that jazz music is rather crazy sounding to the ears, it is excellent, pleasing, yet unrelinting.

the rat-tats of cymbals, and the sharp bass notes, mingle with the smooth piano, its a ride all on its own.

anyone here into jazz tell me where to look for some great stuff to listen too.

For starters?! That is a lot to throw at him

I'd suggest the Miles Davis album "Kind of Blue". Pound for pound one of the best jazz albums ever. And you can't go wrong with Oscar Peterson

If you are looking for one killer track, check out "Kim" by Charlie Parker.

hey ATrain, that's crazy you mentioned that parker tune kim, after i made that post i was gonna put the youtube link to kim up there, but then i left the house in a hurry and didn't, anyway, here it is...just audio...

    YouTube - Charlie Parker "Kim"

i love playing that tune, the charlie parker omnibook is fricken awesome if you're into playing, most of the solos are all written out, you can learn a ton about bebop just thumbing through the damn thing.
