Does anyone know of or use any good sampling programs for the PC?

I've seen a friend use a very good program, however it was only designed for the Mac and from my recollection it was pricy at £700 or so :twocentsfound out it was Logic Pro after google search).

What are some of the best programs to use on a PC for music sampling?
