first i was looking at the vapir one 5.0, but found out those suck. so now i'm looking at Da Buddha, and the natural goods vape. what is the best vaporizer to get for around this price range? and what is the difference between da buddha and the SSV?

Some buyers are happy with the Vapir One. Can't beat the price for a dual mode vape (bag/direct draw). But the plastic shell, reliability issues, and 90 day warranty are definitely drawbacks.

The Natural Goods unit is a pretty safe buy from Gotvape. They give you a lifetime warranty on it. So as long as they're in business it's the best guarantee you'll get on a digital unit. The downside of this model is that you have to preheat the whip. The display shows the whip temp only, so it's not as useful as the $500 models.

what is the difference between da buddha and the SSV?

The main differences in the DB and the SSV are the heater cover angle, hands free standard on the DB (a smaller bowl too) and the custom glass control knob is standard on the SSV. The opening on the DB heater cover is also a little larger, providing more air per hit, but thereby also exposing a wider surface area for the heated airstream. The difference in the vapor draws should be minimal. The bigger difference to me is the whip angle and hands free or not. Hands free is not a plus for me and I like the SSV connection angle, so that was the deciding factor for my purchase. Looks like the SSV is above your price range, but you can get one for $225 including shipping ('420Times' for the coupon code). Hard to beat the DB for the price though, if you like the setup.

swice1 also has a good point with the Hotbox. It's a proven design if you like the style.

Buy a Vapolution which are 150 on ebay. I own one and can say that it is best for the price. It comes with a lifetime warranty.

I used to own a Vapor Cannon, but the ceramic heating element gave off a bad mechanically burning smell, so I sold it and bought a Vapolution after using one at a friends house. The Vapolution is the cleanest tasting vaporizers I've used.

I have a Vapolution too, and it's a great home/portable vape. Unfortunately their warranty isn't what it used to be.

"The Vapolution Vaporizer is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Manufacturing defects will be repaired free of charge for the first 90 days. After 90 days, any repair is $25USD except for the glass heater. The glass heater is covered by our $50USD replacement program."

That is NOT a lifetime warranty. That's a 90 day warranty. The $25 or $50 charge does cover return shipping, but charging for repair means out of warranty by anyone's definition.

The Vapolution really is a smooth hitter, but the narrow bowl restricts the size of your hits. Your typical 'home whip units'-Vaporcannon, etc., Da Buddha and SSV allow much bigger hits, if that's important to you. If you need easy portability (optional battery pack too), Vapolution's an excellent choice, and for some people, big hits are just an unpleasant surprise. If you home vape only, I'd give the edge to the above mentioned vapes. They give bigger hits and better warranties.

Hot box is treating me very well. Best whip ever which makes it the smoothest vapo I have used. I also like the horizontal position of the element. I don't ever get any spillage. Wouldn't mind a temp control but its pretty much at the best temperature. Gets a little hot with the tiles but it looks so damn cool.

That's the big minus for this vape IMO. A temp control is nice if you're going to vape a variety of herbs, but the target temp range is fine for a good many other herbs as well as the most important one.

get a vaporbros... I got mine 4-5 years ago and it still works just as good as the day i bought it (I bought it used, too). i have never encountered anyone with any complaints about the vaporbros and I've met a fair amount...

Vapor Bros is the way to go. I bought one and it seems really durable. Smooth hits and it conserves so much fucking bud! I definitely use at least 2x less weed than I did smoking.

I'd prefer a Vaporcannon over the Vapor Bros. A little less $ and a better warranty.:twocents:
