First you build a still, which is slightly more complicated than a bong, because it must be air tight and whitstand heat. It must also be able to be disassembled for cleaning.

Once you figure out how to build your still (it is extremely tedious and frustrating) and you construct it you'll want to test your system with water and get it going to the point where you can distill water. It will take along time to build and get the system up and running, in the mean time you can grow your plants, Marijuana, H.W., ect for raw starting materials.

Once you can distill water you'll be ready for something more flammable, like acetone. You'll need a flameless burner and spark free, cool, well ventalated environment. After you sucessfully distill acetone you'll be ready for petroleum ether (camp fuel/naptha). By the time you get to the camp fuel if you have been planning ahead you should have H.B. seeds to treat (or yeast/sugar). remeber stills are hard and frustrating to make and you can always modify your system as you go if it is not working well. But for most of us with practice and experience making bongs and pipes building a still should be an interesting and fruitful experience.
