I don't know if it's quackery, but they have those anti-seasickness wristbands, such as the "Sea Band". I've used them and they seemed to prevent me from getting carsick on long rides. Marijuana deifinitely helps.

I love surfing, I love swimming, I love sailing (on lakes), but for some reason being on a boat on the ocean gets me sea sick if there are any waves at all (and there usually are waves on the open ocean).
