quick n00b question re: heating & humidity

Sorry for the hijack, canabaloid. I've got a quick off-topic response for (aptly named) Bozo...

As I stated, I've seen these responses from you in few posts, and now three responses in the same post saying the same nothings, and offering no substantive help.
What, have you taken it upon yourself to be the wise and honorable member, and rag on fellow newbies till submission?

If your only two options are to either 'blow-off' a post, or rag on a fellow member...I'd blow-off the post, and let those with correct and appropriate answers do their thing. There are plenty of us here willing to do so.

Anything else you'd like to argue about, let me know...I'm around here a lot, and haven't been in a good argument all week.

didn't mean to create a problem and i sure don't come here to argue.
i just thought you'd benefit way more from that link than you would from me and my very meager knowledge. in the future, if i can help, i will. good luck with your grow, i wish you much success.
oh, and as an aside, i chose that name to remind myself to be humble

    bozo,
    peace, love, dope

quick n00b question re: heating & humidity

Patience is a virtue. That is what makes canncom different from that other big site with the pot leaf wallpaper. We are oriented towards getting new medical growers up and running. I do NOT like to see people getting testy with noobs who are just trying to get information (although you can flame noobs repeatedly giving shitty advice all you want, within the rules of the site of course). If you aren't going to help, just spectate, and if you've got a link, great- but please pretty please be more gentle about it.

Canabiloid, 'humid' is relative- Plants don't like it arid; they like SOME humidity. Your goal as a grower is to match your humidity to your temperature fluctuations so that the relative humidity stays about 30-60% in veg and 30-40% in flower.

The reason that you are having a hard time finding that info might be because adjusting your humidity is so dependent upon your grow style.

Hudson and Rusty are leading you in the right direction. Do a test run and measure your high/low temps and high/low humidity. If you can, go into the room in the dark period and look at the %RH- if it is reading significantly higher, you will want to add exhaust.
    Why?
Simple. What is dew? Dew is the moisture that WAS held in the warm daytime air falling out as liquid water when the air temperature drops at night, and cold air cannot hold as much water vapor as warm air.
Did you know that you can get dew indoors? It can condense on your buds, causing rot.
This is why you want to keep your temperature day/night numbers within ~10-15 degrees of each other, and be certain that you are still running your exhaust fan when the lights are turned off.
Adding plants will add humidity, as they transpire the water that you give them into the air, and as they grow, they use and transpire more- so your numbers will change over time, and you'll just want to keep an eye on that. Different styles of growing also add moisture to the air- if there is a large surface area of water or moist medium exposed, as with a hydroton ebb n flow bed, that can be a source of evaporation.

Bud rot is likely to set in, especially with dense strains, at %RH over 50. So avoid that.
