quick n00b question re: heating & humidity
does the HID light provide the heat for the grow room too? or do i need a seperate heater/source? also as i need to control the environment inside the tent best as possible i was thinking of buyin a humidyfier because i heard they like it humid.. but im sure i also read somewhere that seedlings dont like it humid or it causes root or stem rot. does this mean i should only turn the humidyfier on after 5 nodes? thanks in advance  are there different preferable temps for the different stages ie seedling, veg and flowering?:rastasmoke:

quick n00b question re: heating & humidity
The HID does put out quite a bit of heat, but is it going to be enough heat to keep your growroom at the desired temps and what are your growroom temps going to be like when the lights are off? This will depend on the area where your growroom is located and what sort of extraction system you've got. I'd do a test run over a 24 hr period and see what your temps are like before you decide to buy a heater or humidifier. I don't think the optimum temps change for the different stages of the plant. As far as humidity goes, i thought higher humidity was good for seedlings, but you should lower humidity in flowering as it may give problems with bud rot.

quick n00b question re: heating & humidity
i don't mean to sound like an a**hole but, have you even looked here Cannabis FAQs / FAQ , Recipes, Medical Marijuana before asking something like this?
believe me, experienced growers will just ignore you if they think you're too lazy to do your own research. the thing is that that question shows that you've done very little of your own research.
people will be glad to help you, hell, they WANT to help you, but only if your willing to help yourself.
so, go HERE Cannabis FAQs / FAQ , Recipes, Medical Marijuana and start doing some reading, when stumped, ask questions.

and oddly enough, that link has been there, near the top of the page each and every time you have come to the site. it's labeled 'Cannabis FAQ's' to make it easy to find.

quick n00b question re: heating & humidity
i have three teens too lazy to help themselves so i get a little testy when i see someone with the ability to log onto the internet and, seemingly unable to think for themselves, LOL
not that i'm talking about you canabaloid, don't get your nose out of joint.
the thing is, i believe in the philosophy contained in the statement:
'give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach him HOW to fish and he eats EVERY day', so when i point a newbie at the FAQ's, i'm trying to teach them HOW to fish, if i just gave them answers, i'd just be giving them a single fish, then, the next time they need an answer, well you get the idea.
anyway,

quick n00b question re: heating & humidity
During the winter, yes, the HID will provide some heat when the lights are on. (too much during the summer months, lol) Likely not enough to keep the ladies cozy and warm during the winter, though. (especially when lights are off)
I live in the desert, where humidity is around 9% during the summer, and I don't own a humidifier. Every time you water your ladies, you are adding a bit of humidity. Overdoing humidity at any stage and you risk mold, but buds are more susceptible.
Keeping temps within a 15 to 20 degree range is preferable. With my outdoors flower shed, I have problems with this twice a year. During the winter, I try to keep the temps between 50 to 70 degrees, during the summer months, I try and keep them between 70 to 90 degrees. Were I just growing inside my house, I'd keep the temps between 60 and 80 degrees.
BOZO: Three responses to this post, and you never answered a question.

So...my recommendation is: You keep reading, and when your actual knowlege base is equal to your implied knowlege base, you'll be more qualified and perhaps know how to respond in a less flippant and unhelpful manner. (ie: by then, perhaps your responses will be helpful)
