Cloning process? please help!
I want to start cloning my plants in the next week or so and i plan to grow them in a soil environment, not hydrophonic....I have a few questions if you could please give me your insights:
1. If i were to use Rockwool to grow my clones, will i be able to transport the entire plant with the rockwool to a soil mixture?
if yes, will i have to remove the rockwool or can I just plant the whole thing into good soil?
2. I'm also considering using Jiffy Pellets....will the same principle apply to using jiffy pellets as too using rockwool?dainfamousrican Reviewed by dainfamousrican on . Here's how I do it, using Rapid Rooters which IMHO are the ideal cloning medium for a soil grower:

The reason I feel they're superior to RW or Jiffy pucks for soil growers is because of their ideal water retention properties, both during cloning, and also afterwards, when the plant is in soil. Jiffy pucks are pure peat, and hold a LOOOOOOT of water- personally, I don't like having something stuck around teh stem that can't dry out. Rockwool is chill if you leave a good chunk of it stickig above the soil surface to dry out. I FEAR stem rot, haha. Can ya tell? Don't forget to pre-soak and then squeeze dry your RW cubes, and at least squeeze the jiffys before use. They should be moist like a good brownie, not soggy.

Cloning process? please help!
I'll have to remember to try this sometime. I haven't done too much cloning, but I've gotten good results from using basically a mini DWC bubbler. (Like a cut-down water bottle or cup or something with an airstone in it.) A little Clone-It, keep the water fresh, and it's all good.
I've gotten decent results, but this looks like it might work better for me.
The real trick is going to be to remember to buy the Rapid Rooters...

Cloning process? please help!
You can always count on good advice from Stinky. I do concur. When I lived in the states I used rockwool cubes and a humidity dome tray thingy. It worked pretty good. Id say my success rate was around 80%.
Where I live now all those special things are hard to get so I just do my clones right in the soil. Although I do try and make my soil lighter and airier for the clones by adding some coco coir. I put a cut off three liter bottle with plenty airholes over the clones while at work, and when at home I spray em every few hours but leave the top off. After the first couple days I leave the dome off completely. My success rate has actually been better this way. I haven't had any clones die except one that was too small and weak I shouldn't even had tried to clone it. I think a major part of cloning is just being around as much as you can to monitor the clones and see how they are doing more water, less water, more air, less air etc etc.
Good luck:thumbsup:

Cloning process? please help!
I am growing in coco and its time for me to clone in a few days.
I was kinda planning to clone straight into the coco, what do you think about that and would it produce decent success rate? I am home around the clock more or less and will take very good care of them natrually.
I'm gonna build a bubbler for next batch but this first time I would like to do it very basic. Cloning hormones and then straight into the medium they are to grow in later.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
